Are people blogging less?
Maybe its a bug with google reader or something but for the first time in ages my great and good folders of feeds I track (my kinda 2 tier way of keeping on top of blogs) are nearly empty. Do folks just twitter now or something?
Procrastination! Perhaps you read your feeds more frequently and you check for updates so rapidly that people don't have to write articles in between! :-)
I'd be happy if there were fewer, but better blogs, and maybe twitter helps that. I just don't find much value in knowing where so-and-so ate lunch via twitter. I find myself using dzone to give me blog content to read, and I don't feel there's any shortage. It seems to have the best signal to noise ratio for what I'm interested in lately.
Things also go in the other direction too... between google talks, parleys, infoq and others, there's a ton of good video content out there.

It may be summer but I think it is the twitter effect. Ever since Java One, I too have noticed a marked decline in postings.
Pity.
Though I'm finding myself spend more time on twitter and less time reading/posting to blogs :)

I knew this blogging fad would pass eventually....
